The Quickest Ways to Upgrade Your Bathroom

The kitchen and living room can sometimes steal the show when it comes to home design, but the bathroom needs attention too! If you have a limited budget or a busy schedule, use these tips to give your bathroom the quickest makeover ever!

Stick-on backsplash

If you haven't heard of adhesive backsplashes, you're in for a treat. Stick-on backsplashes are great if you're in a rental and want to add a personal touch, but they're also perfect for a quick bathroom upgrade. If you don't have time to completely renovate your bathroom, try a peel and stick backsplash to add style, color and texture to the sink and vanity.

New shower curtain

Your shower curtain could be making your bathroom feel drab if it doesn't suit the space. For instance, if you have a small, windowless bathroom, you should not have a dark shower curtain. It will only make the room feel smaller. Switch to a light-colored shower curtain made from a lightweight fabric and your bathroom will instantly feel brighter and more inviting.

Paint the cabinets

The easiest way to transform the look of your bathroom is to paint the cabinets. If your budget or schedule doesn't allow you to install new cabinets, painting the existing ones is an easy solution for an updated look.

Install new light fixtures

Outdated light fixtures will make your bathroom feel tired. Additionally, if the fixture isn't strong enough to light the space sufficiently, your bathroom will feel claustrophobic. Take a weekend to run to your local hardware store and select light fixtures you actually like that suit your bathroom.

Fresh paint

There's nothing that a little fresh paint won't improve. If your bathroom looks lifeless, repaint the walls in an uplifting color. You can take it one step further by updating your hand towels to match the new paint color.

New hardware

This tip, combined with painting the cabinets, creates a great budget-friendly project that will make the biggest impact for the money. Visit the hardware store or shop online for new knobs and towel racks. It's an easy switch that will make the space feel more modern instantly.
