Updates & Much Love from Carl

Happy Spring!  Things are really moving along at the Beverly Carter Foundation lately!  With every passing week, we gain more structure and grow stronger in our ability to serve you!

Since our last update to you, we had the opportunity to speak and exhibit at the RE/MAX R4 Conference & Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV.  This was my first time to attend a large real estate conference limited to a singular brand, and it was special!  Truly, the entire event was uplifting, inspiring, and collaborative.  A highlight of the trip was meeting Mary & Bruce Johnson.  These incredible agents share a background similar to mine – they experienced an unspeakable tragedy and now channel their pain for the good of others.  Their selfless acts raised a ton of money (and awareness) for the Children’s Miracle Network.  These two inspired me beyond words to keep carrying the torch forward.

On Friday, March 15 we held the 16th meeting of the BCF’s Board of Directors.  The Board approved the nominations to expand our board to include new members: Jay Thompson, Jeff Chalmers, and Krista Gross.  This brings expands our Board of Directors to 14 positions; representing a diverse group of professionals across the real estate industry’s spectrum.  We’re so grateful for each of these dynamic leaders and their contributions to expanding our mission of safety.

We’re excited to be in Helena, MT; Dulles, VA; Plattsburg, NY; & Bettendorf, IA over the coming weeks.  For a full list of our events, access our events calendar on our site: https://beverlycarterfoundation.org/events/   We hope to see you soon!

My coursework at the Clinton School of Public Service continues.  My capstone project, unsurprisingly, is based on improving the safety of real estate professionals.  I’ve found good literature and studies on similar occupations (home health nurses, for example), and I’m looking forward to sharing it all soon.  My current opportunity involves researching best practices for evaluating the services we provide, so we can continue to improve our courses and resources.  It’s pretty fascinating.

I found out this week that I’m being inducted into RISMedia’s Newsmaker Hall of Fame at NAR Mid-Year on May 16th in Washington D.C.  I’ll admit that I’m still in shock and keep worrying that I’ll get a call saying it was a mistake.  The honor is tremendous and I’m so appreciative that the industry is recognizing all of the work being done at the Beverly Carter Foundation.  This movement isn’t a one-man-show, it’s taken a lot of people that are fired up about keeping others safe.

I cannot thank you enough for your support of this mission.  It means everything.  Sending you much love from Arkansas… and all the places this mission takes me this year.  Until next time - Carl
